The Vialka Marching Band

We like to rock, we like to roll.
When we play we'll touch your soul.
We're The Vialka Marching Band,
so jump in the air and wave your hands.

Oh, it's alright.
We're gonna play tonight/all night.

We turn it on, we turn it up.
We'll play hard and we'll kick your butt.
Listen up we'll play you a tune.
We'll take you higher, we'll take you to the moon.

We wrote this song for two simple reasons: 1) All «real» rock'n'roll bands need to have a song about how great they are, preferably with their band name as the song title. 2) All «real» French punkrock bands have a drum machine, and since we wrote this song in France we thought it would be fitting. The two big problems with this song is that: 1) Rock'n'roll is stupid. That's correct – rock'n'roll is «American Imperialism», as someone very eloquently put it to me, and not only that - but it is old, boring, un-progressive, and totally commercial. If we won't eat hamburgers at McDonalds, then why should we give a fuck about disco, heavy-metal, or any of the other corporate-funded pop-music's that are polluting the world. Why does DIY music suck? 2) Since it was me, the Anglo-Canadian bastard, that wrote the lyrics - they are not even in French! Zut!
Well, I hope that people will be able to dance to this song one day at the post-gig disco (you know, the part of the gig where people actually have a GOOD time).
