Our
travels continue tomorrow, we'll be on tour in Italy before heading to
the Middle East. Other news: Bob Drake has featured some of my
nocturnal "bone orchard" photos on his website. Thanks Bob! Pirate
recordings of our legendary Kyiv concert in 2004 have been discovered
for download from the MUL
Label. The radio receiver has also been
active, detecting sessions I did with C_utter on Radio Bronka in
Barcelona last year (released by Defenestrated Records and F.T.B.),
as well as a curious dialogue culled from a
session with Michael Barthel and Thomas Beck on Radio FSK in Hamburg
(hacked onto my audio page).
Tilt
Recordings have revealed that they will soon be releasing
Cities
In Desolation/Eric Boros "Of
Trains And Funky Shit" as well as the long
awaited Kiko C. Esseiva/Eric Boros "Improvisations/Bricolages"
collaboration, so keep your
ears and eyes peeled. On a last note, a few Vialka-affiliated goods
have been recuperated and appended to our online shop.
Have a nice day! -

¡Hola
amigos! We're back from another whirlwind tour across and around the
European continent. We had an amazing time, and would like to extend
our most sincere appreciation and admiration to Cyrielle, Tea, Seb, Lem
Phago, Mitch & Mitch, No
Nebraska,
and everyone who partook in the cavalcade. What now? As usual we're
preparing our next expeditions; we have some very interesting projects
in mind for the upcoming year!

Обережно!
Once again, Vialka is about to hit the high road of adventure! We leave
tomorrow for a six week European tour, and are very much looking
forward to seeing all of our comrades, companions and cohorts. As
usual, the dates can be viewed on the concerts
page. Those with money burning a hole in their pockets will be
delighted to know that we will be bringing our portable product
boutique with us. However, please note that due to the fact that we
will be travelling by train we will not be carrying any vinyl records
or NNY CDs - these will only be available through the website and from
our friends at Maloka and F.T.B.
It may also be noted that we have acquired a few lost and forgotten
copies of the NNY LP and have put them up for sale. Online orders will
be filled as soon as we get home, unless we are able to hire some elves
or build cyborgs to do the dirty work. So, until next time, we hope to
see you at the concerts!

Here
at the Vialka Commune we are hard at work training new members. As you
can see, we try to get them started early! -

Jó
napot kívánok! In furthering attempts to be rid of worldly possessions
and free from the confines of market capitalism, many new files of my
solo material can be found here
(it should be mentioned that many of these tracks feature the
incredible Vialka AudioWeevil, custom built by Tom Bugs/BugBrand).
A short blues track called "Go
Down To The River" will also be featured on the BTK
Sampler 1 (as well as the Recordings For The Summer Podcast),
and Recordings For The Summer
will be releasing a mini-CD of my recent performance in Kassel,
Germany. Fear not, meanwhile, Vialka will continue to produce and
provide mechanical music reproductions as part of a strategy to help
fund intercontinental cultural activity. -

Tally-ho!
Many thanks to Tom, Tadhg, Chiz, and all who put us on, put us up, and
put up with us during our recent tour of the United Kingdom. Despite
adverse weather conditions in an unideal season, the tour was very good
indeed, so much so that we are already planning a return trip for early
2008! It looks like we'll be at home for all of August, preparing for
the next tours and projects. We're considering releasing the remastered
"Tonight I Show You Fuck" and "Republic
Of The Bored & Boring"
as some kind of online item. We'll get back to you about that, in the
mean time I'm editing some of my recent solo work for download.

Gentles
and ladymen! We are proud to announce the official release of our new
full-length compact disc album "Plus Vite Que La Musique"!
Hooray! Our eager and friendly staff (that's us actually) are standing
by to fill orders, which are being taken at our online shop, as well as by phone,
mail, telegraph, carrier pigeon, and so on. An audio file sample can be
found on our audio
page,
but naturally, those who would prefer to see, touch, and smell this
high-quality product before purchase will have to present themselves in
person at one of our upcoming
concerts! And, as it seems, the unofficial release party will
take place on the 4th of July in Clermont-Ferrand (please
note that this choice of date is arbitrary and correspondence with any
other red-letter day is purely coincidental). -

Jambo,
mzungu! A brief missive to inform the masses that the master of our new
album has been sent to the plant; hence we've added a downloadable
audio preview for your eager ears. On another note, the concert
previously announced in Clermont-Ferrand for the 20th of June has been
cancelled due to the rejection of the visa applications of the
Mongolian band that we would have been playing with. In compensation we
have rescheduled a concert for the 4th of July. - EB

Our
recording session was a great success, thanks to Bob (who is currently
putting the final touches on some of the mixes), Anne (who made sure
that the cover will be very nice, and that Ildiko was happy) and to
Maggie (who made sure that we ate delicious and exotic meals everyday).
Yes! Thank you! Bob also helped us take some stunning (or is it
startling?) "promotional photos" which will be downloadable very soon!

Indeed, comrades, some time has passed since the last communiqué from
the Vialka Commune. We are on the verge of embarking on new and
exciting adventures; we leave tomorrow for the Pyrénées, where we will
be recording the second half of our next album with Bob Drake. We will
also be playing a few shows, our first out as parents! Our friend Anne
will be joining us for the journey, as babysitter, as well as to work
on the layout of the album cover - for which Colleen Kinsella has
provided us with some beautiful art. We hope to have the album,
entitled "Plus Vite Que La Musique", out for our
UK tour in
July... During a recent trip to Switzerland, Wolfgang Rüfenacht
presented me with an extraordinary re-mastered version of "Tonight
I Show You Fuck",
which we will try to release (including tracks that didn't appear on
the original) eventually. The web site has been slightly spruced-up,
and thus plans for a "major overhaul" as previously mentioned are
permanently on hold. Upon return from the Vialka recording session and
shows, I'll leave for a series of performances with Michael Barthel in
Germany. We have agreed to both grow moustaches for the tour, previews
of which can be noted on the following promotional image. -

Good
day! Winter finally made a spectacular appearance here, but despite
hopes that a new ice age had commenced, it seems as though the thaw has
begun. I was off for a weekend of solo shows up north (Holland, Belgium
and Paris) as well as a guitar duo in Lyon with Nico Poisson. We're
honing a few new Vialka tunes and more are on the way - looks like the
new album will be out sooner than planned. I've got some more solo
shows planned in the Balkans and Germany, and Vialka tours are already
being organised starting in May so keep an eye on the concerts page.
Vialka will be featured on a Sherman Community Arts podcast,
and for those interested, some of my solo work can be found at this hidden location.

Shalom!
We have returned from our recent and last pre-baby voyage and have been
resting up. Despite some minor problems (cancelled flight, lost and
damaged baggage), the tour in Israel was excellent! Toda Victor,
Leonid, Kruzenshtern I Parohod, and everyone for the nice hospitality,
good audiences, and great hummous!! Despite the break we are taking
from playing concerts you can rest assured that we are hard at work on
new songs and projects (and new instruments!) and will be planning some
(shorter) tours for the coming year. - EB

Voila!
After all these years of keeping you all in the dank and dark zones of
unknowing, we unveil the age of Vialka enlightenment with the
inauguration of this newfangled "news" page. We'll do our best to keep
it from being overly mundane. We're planning a major overhaul of the
site as well, possibly this winter when we have time to plunge into the
computer and find some new HTML tricks. Our European tour this fall was
a great success and a lot of fun - we'd like to extend a sincere and
heartfelt thanks to all the organisers, cooks, old friends and new who
came to the concerts, and did so without smoking. This was a great
experience and we hope we can keep doing it this way (no-smoking that
is). Just returned from recording four new songs with Bob Drake in the
Pyrénées, it was very relaxed and inspiring - huge thanks to Bob and
Maggie! So, we're home for a few days and then off to America for some
concerts up and down the east coast, and then a few dates in Israel
before Marylise takes her maternity-leave. I'll also be doing some solo
shows and showings of the "Everywhere & Nowhere"
DVD in Barcelona. And finally: the new split CD with Kruzenshtern I
Parohod is tardily out and available in the online shop. - EB
